Celebrating seven years of the DASA Academy
We are delighted to be able to deliver training provisions to all of our team and dedicated associates from our – DASA Academy which is celebrating its seventh year.
The DASA Academy is located at our headquarters in Stockport. It provides our engineers, apprenticeship schemes and technical and customer support teams with the practical and theoretical knowledge to ensure best practice for all of our customers. Training is delivered by our in-house training managers and external trainers for more specific programmes.
Managing director and founder Darryl Gartley explains: “We are incredibly proud to have established the DASA Academy in 2013. We have always been recognised for being leaders in our field, but as the business grew, we wanted to be able to facilitate training in house to educate and develop our field service engineers, ensuring that they were able to learn the technical and practical training in a controlled environment, before going out into the field”.
“A number of engineers who join DASA have previous underground services expertise, however many join us on our Apprenticeship Scheme. Our Academy ensures that all of our engineers deliver the DASA service, once they get out on the road, ensuring the highest level of service and expertise, and use of the very latest technology.”
“We’ve continued to evolve the Academy and have now extended our training inviting other areas of the business to take part developing a range of courses suited to their specific roles and personal development aspirations.”
Andrew Greatorex operations director continues: “We have a very successful apprenticeship scheme here at DASA. We have trained many apprentices over our 30 plus years in business, many of whom have joined us straight from leaving education and have gone on to lead regional teams, head office roles such as technical management. We attribute a lot of this success to the continuous training we provide.”
Continued Andrew: “It’s important for us that we continue the professional development of all our staff, enabling them to develop in their role and provide a value-added service for our insurance clients and their policy holders. It also ensures that staff retention at DASA is extremely high.
“Training programmes range from, dealing with vulnerable customers to, on site safety.
“We are constantly investing in new technology and we feel it incredibly important that in addition to training our site team on how to use this, our support team also have the knowledge to fully inform our customers on the methodology we use to avoid disruption and provide the very best level of service.
“This ensures all members of our team are #DASAtotherescue heroes.”
Managing director Darryl Gartley added: “Doing things the “DASA WAY” has been the bed-rock of our company for over 35 years. From the very beginning to the present-day training as and always will be a vital component of what we do at DASA making our operational processes unique in every way”.
